-----------------------MINUTES ---------------------------
Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting.

Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures:

- None

AR Review:

- Mike add a quail to correct open sink/source in IQ spec 5.6.2
  - Not done yet

- Bob send Test Keyword Clarification BIRD additions to Mike
  - Done
  - The BIRD should be ready for submission

- Bob conduct tests of parser behavior
  - No tests yet

New items:

Mike showed the BIRD
- We agreed it is ready for submission to the open forum

AR: Mike submit Test Keyword BIRD to open forum

Mike showed parser code for Test Load keyword
- Bob: I have parser error messages for us to look at at some point
- Mike: The parser does treat [Test Data] and [Test Load] as top level

Bob: The BIRD can be folded into the newly formatted IBIS spec
- Mike: Who is doing the work?
- Bob: A TechAmerica employee or contractor
- The BIRD will go into 5.1
- Bob: This may delay the 5.1 work

Mike showed the External_Test sample document:
- Mike: There was dissent about including multiple SPICE statements in [Test Circuit]
- Bob: We have to consider how the tool will handle these files
  - They may want to read it natively
- Mike: Some tools will have to convert
  - They will always have to create new files
- Bob: One problem is how to pass parameters
- Mike: We could follow SPICE syntax for that
- Bob: The called subckt might itself call other subckts
  - We could specify one top level subckt

Moshiul: You could use the M1.pad syntax for probes too:
- Mike showed an alternative with two nodes per line
- Bob: Some people may want to use a global ground
- Mike: Should we give a way to specify where global ground is attached?
- Moshiul: Sometimes the reference may not be ground
- Mike: I don't like having params on the same line as subckt info
  - The file name can't be optional this way
- Moshiul: Some languages skip the file name and assume it with an extension
- Mike: For example IBIS assumes .pkg extension to find [Define Package Model]
- Bob: It is less likely this will be hardcoded into a simulator
  - They will translate to native language

There was some discussion of M1.pad style "Dot language":
- Mike: It is used in [External Circuit]
- Bob: I think it is EBD that uses it

AR: Mike assemble multiple proposals for subckt call styles

Next meetings:
- Next meetings July 5 and July 12

July 12 agenda:
- Test Keyword Clarification BIRD draft

Meeting ended at 12:28 Eastern Time.
